Human Factors (CS minor) Bachelors Degree - 2020 grad

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University - Daytona Beach Campus

  • Develop a deep understanding between human/computer interactions that allow users to make efficient use of software/hardware

  • Gain insight into development methods for ergonomics equipment and the importance of creating designs that fit the intended audience

  • Perform surveys and studies on the student population to determine the best methods or designs for a product

  • Use aspect of human psychology to understand user needs to a greater degree and develop interfaces that are guide users where they want to go

  • Use established design principles to implement best practices which allow users to navigate without issue even when visiting new web pages

  • Use of popular or widely understood iconography to reduce the need for users to learn new information

  • Redesigned the ERAU student app using Sketch in a 4 person group project to enhance usability, utility, readability, and accessibility

  • Redesigned the Netflix desktop site to improve usability and aid in user comprehension (a mock-up design)

  • Collaborated with grad students, professors, and fellow students to perform a comprehensive study on the Cybersecurity industry and the current state of documentation and SOP used by professionals of the field

Computer Science Minor - Highlights

  • Gained experience developing desktop applications in Java, C#, and C

  • Developed a standalone Java tower defense game: Defend The Fort (DTF)

  • Interfaced with secure university servers through a command shell using WinSCP to execute C project files

  • Implemented proper structuring of code to ensure readability and comprehension for myself and reviewers

  • Created UML diagrams in combination with Game Design Documents (GDD) to visualize project structures

  • Participated in a 5 person SCRUM team to develop a 2D dungeon crawler game (Dijkstra's Pilots) in Unity with procedural generated levels

  • Made use of AGILE methods to keep track of goals and ensure team members were on task across a semester long project

  • Military training for 25U - Signal Support Supervisor position

  • 16 weeks of education on radio equipment, sensitive materials, and signal theory in preparation for active duty
